The science of “Vastu Sastra” has
just started acquiring its immense popularity during the past 2 to 3 decades.
The distinctive characteristics of Vastu Shastra a primitive science is that it
is mainly based and developed on the natural laws. Such as Ether (Space), Earth
(Land), Jal (Water), Vayu (Air) and Agni (Fire).
These five elements are most
essential for all animal kingdoms in the earth. Therefore, establishing harmony
with our nature to intensify peace and harmony has been the main aim of
Vastushastra. This Sastra (Subject) is mainly based on 8 directions and 5 above
mentioned elements. Thus, any Vastu which is developed on the basis of these 5
principles of nature is bound to present with wealth, success, affluence, peace
and harmony to the person using this Vastu. Therefore it considered a Science which is
specially used for the well-being of human lives.
This subject or the Sastra was
first mentioned in Sthapatya Veda/Sastra, one of the most popular Vedas subordinated
to Atharvaveda (Atharava Veda) in its comprehensive explanation included in
Tantra which is called the applied knowledge of the Atharvaveda. Later on, one
finds its reference in the epics of Ramayana (written by Sri Valmiki) and
Mahabharata (written by Maharishi Krishna Dvaipayana Vyasa), an epoch when philosophy
was a path of life.
It was questioning and reasoning of
philosophical thoughts that progressed in different sciences as we are aware of
these days. Sectors where logical clarification has not yet penetrated all in the realm of mysticism.
I personally believe The Vastu
Sastra is best narrated “Mystic Science” that can be set side by side to the
human being.
Although, Medical Science has
explored and described in different facets of human body and mind but still
there are some many unexplained things in the soul. The fundamental concept of
Vaastu Sashtra is like the theory of the health of the body; the main idea
beyond the concepts is like the unexplainable soul.
